Dr. Umar Mahmood, a licensed physician, has performed medical malpractice after injecting me in the wrong side of my back during a routine procedure. Dr. Mahmood was supposed to administer a steroid injection to my RIGHT lower lumbar region to alleviate chronic pain. However, he instead injected the medication on the LEFT side of the spine. This careless error resulted in me suffering immediate, excruciating pain as well as potential long-term nerve damage. Patients place their trust, health, and very lives in the hands of medical professionals like Dr. Mahmood. His lack of care and attention in performing a relatively simple injection is an unacceptable breach of that sacred duty. Gross negligence like this casts doubt on Dr. Mahmood’s competence as a physician and brings disrepute to the medical profession as a whole. The medical board should thoroughly investigate this troubling incident and consider suspending or revoking Dr. Mahmood’s license to practice medicine to protect other patients from harm.
